Who’s Susan?

Teacher turned columnist. A retired elementary school teacher who writes about life. My weekly newspaper column is entitled “Where We Are.” Slices of daily life. A little nostalgia. A little wishfulness. A little adventure.

Mother turned Gran. Two children and eight grandchildren. Being a Gran is so much  fun and  I often write about my Grands.

Small town girl turned small town woman. Still learning and still smiling and still married to the same man. I read books, make a good pot of vegetable soup, bake corn light bread, knit scarves, eat lunch with friends, mend the Grands’ sleeping stuffies, drive a black mini-van, play Words with Friends, cheer for my favorite sports teams, and vote in every election. Just like the lady who lives next door.

  1. I love your column, it’s the best part of the paper all week. The one this week about moving brings back memories of my grandparents place. I hated so bad when it was sold. Everything changed I remembered all those great memories and trees that were climbed ponds that were skated upon.

    Thank-you

  2. Susan, I read your column every week and always enjoy it but I especially enjoyed today’s column, November 8, 2017. I’m 70 years old, happy, and very blessed. But sometimes I forget to enjoy every “stage” of my life. Thank you for reminding me.
